EVRI-thing You Need to Know About Logistic Regression
January 21, 2021
Our webinar series continues on Thursday, January 21 with “EVRI-thing You Need to Know About Logistic Regression.” Join Eigenvector Senior Data Scientist Manuel Palacios for an in-depth discussion of this important machine learning method for classification.
Classification algorithms (classifiers) seek to assign a class (or category) to a new observation from a given set of classes. There are many classifiers (e.g. Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis, PLSDA) and they all attempt to solve the classification problems in different ways. In this webinar we introduce Logistic Regression, which is a simple but effective classifier used mostly when linear boundaries can be drawn between the classes. Logistic Regression can, however, be modified for cases where non-linear boundaries are required.
In this webinar we’ll discuss:
- Principles of Classification Algorithms
- Fundamentals of Logistic Regression
- Logistic Regression (LREGDA) in PLS_Toolbox and Solo
- Regularization in Logistic Regression
We will include some live demos with PLS_Toolbox/Solo to show you how to use logistic regression for best results.
Register for “EVRI-thing You Need to Know About Logistic Regression” through your existing Eigenvector account, or create one. The webinar is free, but you must register to attend. Find the webinar near the bottom of the page under the “Purchase” tab.
A question and answer session will follow the webinar. Don’t miss your chance to quiz Manny and the Eigen-Guys about how to use this important classification technique.
Reserve your seat today. The webinar will be live on Thursday, January 21, at 7:00am PDT, (that’s 16:00 CEST). We will send you a WebEx invitation the day before the webinar. We hope you can attend live, but if you sign up and can’t make it, we’ll send you a link to view the recording the day after the webinar.
