Eigenvector University Europe 2025
October 13, 2025 - October 16, 2025
Eigenvector Research, Inc. is pleased to offer the Thirteenth Annual EigenU Europe. This year we will once again be in Rome, ITALY where we will be staying at the Marriott Courtyard Rome Central Park. We will present four days of courses on chemical data science, also known as chemometrics and machine learning.
The 2025 edition of EigenU Europe will span four days and will offer our two-day Basic Chemometrics series followed by two days of specialty and advanced topics.

Target Audience
Eigenvector University Europe is aimed at chemists, biologists and other life-scientists and engineers who want to be able to analyze their own laboratory, experimental or process data, develop their own data models or develop instruments that produce analytical data. It is especially well suited for those with an interest in process analytical technology (PAT) in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and process industries. The course serves individuals with a need for exploratory data analysis, development of predictive models such as analytical instrument calibrations, soft sensor models, multivariate statistical process control (MSPC), fault detection and sample classification. No prior knowledge is required for this course.
Course Description & Outline
The Monday-Tuesday block of EigenU Europe will cover the fundamentals of many commonly used chemometric and machine learning methods such as principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares (PLS) regression. Emphasis will be on applying these techniques in the chemical process and laboratory environment for pattern recognition, instrument calibration, and sample classification. The course material is drawn from our popular Eigenvector University Series. The class begins with a brief review of Linear Algebra for Chemometricians, and moves quickly into Chemometrics I:PCA and then on to Chemometrics II: Regression and PLS. Aspects of Advanced Preprocessing methods will also be covered.
On Wednesday and Thursday we are offering a selection of advanced topics in chemical data science. We will begin with Clustering and Classification which covers methods for samples classification such as Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) and SIMCA. That will be followed by Variable Selection which covers how to optimize models via feature selection. Hierarchical and Optimized Models discusses how to compare and optimize calibration models and generate them with our Diviner Semi-Auto Machine Learning tool for efficient model development. The advanced topics section ends with a full day devoted to Non-linear Methods for Calibration and Classification.
Participants must bring their own laptops with current versions (9.5 or later) of Solo or PLS_Toolbox (and MATLAB) installed. Demo copies will work just fine. Users with Eigenvector accounts can download free demos. If you don’t have an account, start by creating one. If you cannot provide your own computer, please contact us and we will try to arrange one for you, rental fees may apply.
Eigenvector University Europe will include the following modules from our annual Eigenvector University. Click on each title for more detailed information about the module.

About the Instructors
The courses will be led by Eigenvector President Barry M. Wise who will be joined by Eigenvector Associate Professor Rasmus Bro. Dr. Wise holds a doctorate in chemical engineering and is the creator of PLS_Toolbox. Each spring Wise organizes and teaches at Eigenvector University, the most comprehensive offering of chemometrics classes in the world. Professor Rasmus Bro leads the Chemometrics Group at the University of Copenhagen. He has authored over 100 papers in the field of chemometrics. Both Wise and Bro are recipients of the EAS Award for Achievements in Chemometrics and the Herman Wold medal.
