Classification algorithms (classifiers) seek to assign a class (or category) to a new observation from a given set of classes. There are many classifiers (e.g. Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis, PLSDA) and they all attempt to solve the classification problems in different ways. In this webinar we introduce Logistic Regression, which is a simple but effective classifier used mostly when linear boundaries can be drawn between the classes. Logistic Regression can, however, be modified for cases where non-linear boundaries are required.
